KDS (Kitchen Display System)

A Kitchen Display System (KDS) is a screen that receives orders directly from the POS and shows them to kitchen staff in real time, replacing printed KOT slips.

A KDS shows live tickets, elapsed time per order and station routing. Staff bump each ticket when it is ready, which gives management accurate prep-time data instead of guesswork.

Compared with paper, a KDS cuts printer costs, survives a busy rush without lost slips, and makes it obvious which ticket has been waiting the longest.
